ABOUT TOTAL ENTERTAINMENT
DJ Johnny Oosten has been running a professional mobile disco service for over 25 years. From humble beginnings DJ'ing for fun back in the 80's, he soon became hooked in the business, playing nightclubs and bars on a regular basis. Johnny worked for a number of years as one of the leading presenters on Mid West Radio, www.mwr.ie and later was involved in the development of Community Radio Castlebar www.crcfm.ie on which he still broadcasts a regular weekday show today. His skills and popularity secured him a residency at Mojo's Nightclub in Westport where he also still DJ's every weekend.
Johnny was also awarded an IRMA (Irish Recorded Music Industry) Award for his dance remix of "The Fields of Athenry" as part of the castlebar based group the Cox Crew. The single was a huge success, reaching #1 in the Irish dance charts and #5 in the national record charts. The award was presesented to the group back in 1999 by the legendary Joe Dolan.
On another note, Johnny is also an active member of the community, having co-founded the Croagh Patrick 7 Day in a Row Challenge which is in its third annual year this year. This event was set up to help raise funds for Autism Action and to fund the building of a specialised school in Mayo, specifically for children suffering from Autism in the West of Ireland. Make sure you check out www.croaghpatrickchallenge.com and perhaps you can be pursuaded to take part in next years event! |
